Our Position

Principal Contractor Capability —
With Direct Delivery

Sonic Ltd operates in two complementary roles — as Principal Contractor under CDM 2015, and as a contractor delivering groundworks and civil engineering packages through experienced site coordination and trusted delivery partners.

This means we can lead the construction phase, deliver specific works packages, or provide both — depending on project requirements.

Why it matters

Single point of accountability across the full scope
No handoff risk between PC and delivery contractor
Programme, safety, and quality controlled by one team
Reduced risk for developers and main contractors

Flexible Delivery Options

Principal Contractor Role

  • Construction Phase Plans prepared before mobilisation
  • Site setup, welfare, inductions, and access management
  • Subcontractor coordination, vetting, and compliance
  • Ongoing safety monitoring, audits, and toolbox talks
  • Full CDM documentation through to handover

Direct Contractor Delivery

  • Groundworks and civils delivered using trusted supply chain and workforce
  • Bulk excavation, drainage, foundations, and external works
  • Programme managed and coordinated in-house
  • Flexible resourcing to suit project requirements
  • Delivery from enabling works through to completion

Whether you need a Principal Contractor to manage the full construction phase, or a reliable contractor to deliver critical packages, Sonic Ltd can support both.

What We Provide

WHAT WE MANAGE AS
PRINCIPAL CONTRACTOR

Construction Phase Plans (CPP)

We produce comprehensive Construction Phase Plans tailored to the specific site, scope, and client requirements — covering welfare, emergency procedures, traffic management, and method of works.

RAMS & Site Setup

Detailed Risk Assessments and Method Statements prepared before any mobilisation. Site setup, welfare facilities, signage, exclusion zones, and access arrangements managed from day one.

Subcontractor Coordination

When specialist subcontractors are required, we manage their procurement, induction, and ongoing site compliance. All subcontractors are vetted, and their RAMS reviewed and approved before starting work.

Safety Monitoring & Compliance

Ongoing site safety inspections, toolbox talks, near-miss reporting, and compliance audits throughout the construction phase. All records maintained and available to the client on request.

NEBOSH-Led Safety Approach

Our health & safety management is led by NEBOSH-qualified personnel, ensuring that all decisions — from programme to method — are made with safety as the primary consideration.

CHAS Accreditation

CHAS accredited, demonstrating compliance with core health and safety legislation. Full insurance documentation, public liability, employer's liability, and professional indemnity available on request.
